The car can already be seen on the roads in South Korea, as it is specifically designed for this market. The purpose of the updated Veloster is to attract young customers, those who are twenty to thirty. The car is already sold in the country since January 16.
In order to distance the new Hyundai Veloster 2015 from models of the past years, the manufacturer has slightly modified the appearance of the model. Front bumper of the car now will not be fully painted in body color, and will receive a special silver finish. The car will also be equipped with a xenon optics, and the Turbo version also sports bucket seats and a wider tire dimension 225/40.
Newby got a new front grille and other bumpers. Head optics has changed. A set of wheels for a new Hyundai Veloster 2015 is different.
In the interior provided a new infotainment system and improved materials. All is same under the hood – 204-horsepower engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters.
The most significant change will be the replacement of the usual six-speed automatic transmission to 7-speed automatic gearbox with double clutch in the Turbo version. This is, incidentally, the first transmission of this type, developed by Hyundai. Its premiere took place in Paris last year.
According to the Korean manufacturer, the seven-speed dual clutch transmission will reduce fuel consumption, emissions and what is very important for the car to accelerate the switching speed and acceleration compared to the normal “automatic”.

History of Hyundai Veloster
Veloster was first introduced in the form of concept HND-3 in 2007 at the Seoul motor show. However, there were only three doors, not four, as on a serial machine.
Yes, the design is nice, but the plastic is simple, it is felt as budget materials. But great seats, ergonomics and a wide range of adjustment of the seats make it easy to accommodate the driver and front passenger. Pleasant, well-read dash, logical climate control and receiver at hand – design and convenience here coexist quite peacefully. Did not like only the blue backlighting and limited visibility, especially to the rear.
Speaking of the trunk. The opening is narrowed and is located high up from the ground, but the volume is quite decent. Under the raised floor hides a tiny spare tire. If necessary, you can fold the rear backrest, and then get even carry something large. But when closing the tailgate, again be careful if you have passengers in the back seat, they can accidentally be whacked on the head. Beside the handle of the trunk has even a special sticker-reminder feature.
The steering wheel, I would like to mention, is almost completely devoid of feedback – it is more similar to the controls of the simulator, but allows you to easily turn it with one finger in the Parking lot.
Gearbox cares about the environment and the economy and shifts to a higher gear at the first opportunity. There is a manual mode, but I used it only in the mountains, in the city gearbox has quite adequate switching logic and automatic mode.
The history of Hyundai youth hatchbacks began in 1996 with the appearance of a rather interesting model Tiburon, or Coupe. The name depended on market. Bright design, reasonable prices and playfull tuning are key to success of this model, particularly in North America, then on the targeted marketing of Korean firms. In 1999, the coupe has changed its “face” – now it had 4 round headlights. Tiburon first generation was equipped with only 4-cylinder engine volume of 1.6 to 2.0 liters and power from 113 to 142 HP. Most powerful modification due to the light body has reached the first hundred for 8.4 seconds!
